National Strength and Conditioning Association - Certified Personal Trainer

The National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) examination is organized and conducted by National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). The NSCA-CPT Certification is the first nationally accredited certification in the fitness industry.
The NSCA-CPT credentialing is designed specifically for professionals who work one-on-one with their clients in a range of environments. The NSCA-CPT examination measures the attainment and application of knowledge and skills required to train both active and sedentary individuals.
You must be at least 18 years old.
You must hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
You must hold a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. It should not be an online course. The Certification course must involve practical training and performing CPR either on a person or a dummy.
You also must have a current Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certificate. The course must included hands-on training as well as a skills performance evaluation.
The CPR and AED certificates must have been awarded by a recognized and reputable provider such as the American Heart Association or the National Safety Council.
Both the CPR and AED certificates must be valid on the examination date.

The examination is available in pen-and-paper format as well as the computerised format.
The computerised examination is offered at about 150 different sites across the U.S.
The pen-and-paper format exam is offered in predetermined sites and dates all over the world.
You are given 3 hours to complete the exam.
There are 140 scored multiple choice questions.
There are 10 non-scored multiple choice questions.
The non-scored questions are not distinguished from the scored questions in the examination; hence it is imperative that you answer all questions carefully.
